(tylko po angielsku) The classes are intended to help students prepare their bachelor's theses on energy and climate economics. Topics such as the economic and social impacts of climate change, the development of low-emission technologies, and the design of international climate policy will be discussed, among others. In the seminar, we will also discuss the consequences of climate policy for the Polish economy. The thesis can be based on both quantitative or qualitative methods. |

(tylko po angielsku) Possible topics related to energy and climate economics: • The consequences of climate change for the economy and communities • Low-emission technologies and their development – renewable energy sources • Low-emission technologies and their development – electrification of transport • Changing the direction of technological progress • Integrated Assessment Models • Designing global climate policy and the IPCC cycle • Determining optimal energy mixes for Poland • Structural economic changes driven by climate policy • Risks related to decarbonization for the labor market in Poland • Review of Poland's Energy Policy • Review of the National Energy and Climate Plan • European Union Energy Policy – EU-ETS system, climate targets The meetings will take the form of discussions on selected topics from the list above (to be agreed upon between the students and the instructor). The discussions will be based on scientific articles on the selected topics and IPCC reports. |

Examples of additional academic articles discussed in class include: Arrow, Kenneth (2009). Efekty uczenia się: |
(tylko po angielsku) The student has knowledge of the fundamental issues related to energy and climate economics. The student is familiar with basic research methods used in the field (empirical models, theoretical models, qualitative analyses). The student is able to conduct critical and substantive economic analysis and critically evaluate scientific articles. The student is able to delve into the subject literature. The student can work independently and collaborate with the supervisor in preparing their bachelor's thesis. The student can clearly present their arguments using the results of analytical work. |
