(tylko po angielsku) “The Art and Science of Microeconomic Modeling” course is intended for Ph.D. and advanced M.A. students, and is held in English. The participation requirements are well-developed mathematical skills and fluency in English. |

(tylko po angielsku) Professor Stark is Doctor honoris causa (University of Warsaw), a Humboldt Awardee, a Ministry of Science and Higher Education (Poland) Lifetime Achievement Awardee, and a Presidential Professor of Economics (Poland). Oded Stark is a prolific researcher whose outstanding work has been published and cited in top economics journals. In the RePEc / IDEAS ranking of economics professors he is listed four times: top 1% in the European Union, top 1% in Europe, top 1% in the world, and top (out of a field that is 720 strong) in Poland: https://ideas.repec.org/top/top.poland.html => Authors. As of October 2022, Oded Stark has 55 articles published / forthcoming in internationally refereed outlets co-authored with Polish Ph.D. students / young Polish scholars. Lectures given by Professor Stark are well received by students, partly because of his charisma, openness, and non-standard way of teaching. Professor Stark is also of the habit of offering doctoral scholarships and research assistantships to his best students. Registration for the course can be done until February 28, 2023. The course will be held in an intensive manner during April 17, 2023 - April 28, 2023. Efekty uczenia się: |
(tylko po angielsku) The main objective of the course is to stimulate its participants to think in an insightful, creative and unconventional way about novel approaches to modelling choices and their consequences. At the end of the course, it is expected that participants will be better prepared to understand and assess the results of theoretical research in social sciences and to conduct such research themselves. Participants in the course will be introduced to the art of modelling social phenomena and, in particular, to work on applications of microeconomic theory. |
