  • tygodniowy wymiar godzinowy nakładu pracy studenta wynosi 45 h;
  • 1 punkt ECTS odpowiada 25-30 godzinom pracy studenta potrzebnej do osiągnięcia zakładanych efektów uczenia się;

Skrócony opis:

The aim of the classes is to introduce students to the subject and problems of selected, currently digital finance and economics to make it easier for them to choose the topic of the B.Sc. thesis. Topics related to digital finance and economics will be the main focus during the seminar.

Pełny opis:

In the first semester of the seminar, students will be asked to state the topic of the thesis, they will get to know the technique of working skills, they will do their own research, read the recommended literature and the one selected by themselves with the consultation of the instructor, they will present the topic of the thesis together with the preliminarily formulated questions concerning the research, they will decide on research methods essential in finding solutions to particular problems.

Thesis topics that may relate (but do not exhaust) to the following areas of discussion:

– Fintech innovation and financial industry

– Fintech and financing for households and small and medium-sized enterprises

– Digital currency, cryptocurrency, and financial stability

– Central bank and digital currency

– Future of digital payments in Europe and Digital Banking

– Fintech challenges for financial regulation.

– Digital currency and blockchain technology

– Digital governance

– Data privacy and regulation

Literatura:

The literature recommended for reading in the first semester of the seminar is individually proposed for each topic of the thesis.

Efekty uczenia się:

Upon the seminar completion a student will have the knowledge of digital finance and economics. They will have the understanding of the nature of digital revolution in finance and economics, knowledge of key digital technologies and products, information about key digital business models, understanding of the customer behavior in digital environment, and state reaction to the digital revolution.

Metody i kryteria oceniania:

In the First semester (winter) students will choose the topics for their seminar and will be evaluated based on the work they present during the class. In the second (summer) semester, students are evaluated based on their performance in their theses. A credit for a class will be received on the basis of the initiative on the part of students, a presentation of a selected research topic that might be included in a thesis as well as on the preparation of the general synopsis of work and writing the first chapter of the thesis.
