(tylko po angielsku) In recent years, due to the continuous increase in the volume of processing and analyzed data, business analytics have become increasingly important. Quick preparation of data analyses and presentation results in easy to understand way (e.g. in the form of dashboards) are extremely valuable ability regardless of position held in the company. Microsoft Excel offers great opportunities in the rapidly developing Business Intelligence field in the form of tools and add-ons, i.e.: Power Query, Power Pivot, Power Map and Power View. These tools give a lot of benefits in the context of speed, performance and interactivity in comparison to standard spreadsheet functionalities. Knowledge of BI add-ons in Microsoft Excel has become an indispensable element among skills of data analysts. |

Basic information: In recent years, due to the continuous increase in the volume of processing and analyzed data, business analytics have become increasingly important. Quick preparation of data analyses and presentation results in easy to understand way (e.g. in the form of dashboards) are extremely valuable ability regardless of position held in the company. Microsoft Excel offers great opportunities in the rapidly developing Business Intelligence field in the form of tools and add-ons, i.e.: • Power Query allows for efficient import, transformation and merging of data, • Power Pivot enables creation of a data model that is used as data source to create reports and data visualizations, • Power Map allows to visualize data on maps, • Power View enables create visualizations and presentations of analyses results. These tools give a lot of benefits in the context of speed, performance and interactivity in comparison to standard spreadsheet functionalities. Knowledge of BI add-ons in Microsoft Excel has become an indispensable element among skills of data analysts. Who can participate: The training course is dedicated to people who know Excel, work on large data sets, often perform data visualizations creating dashboards and want to learn how to import, process and present data quickly and efficiently as well as create various types of reports. Course description: The course begins with the designing elements of different traditional dashboards in Excel, then briefly introduces the subject of Business Intelligence in the context of Microsoft Excel add-ons and discusses all four MS Excel BI tools (Power Query, Power Pivot, Power Map and Power View). The training includes theoretical parts that allow participants to learn about the tools and their functionalities, but most of all it contains numerous practical examples illustrating the possible applications of acquired skills. Prepared tutorials and practical exercises facilitate obtaining new skills which can be easily implemented at work. The course consists of the following topics: creating dashboards (taking into consideration visualization data on various types of charts and dynamic ranges), learning how to use Power Query tool (import data of various formats, data transformation, defining custom fields, data joining), Power Pivot (creating a data model, inserting pivot table based on data model), Power Map (using geolocation to visualize data on maps, saving maps in a traditional way and in the form of 3D visualization), Power View (creating an interactive dashboards presenting data in tables, on maps and charts; using slicers). |

(tylko po angielsku) Student has the ability to create advanced reports in the dashboard forms by using Power Excel tools. The course included following topics: creating dashboards (taking into consideration visualization data on various types of charts and dynamic ranges), using Power Query tool (import data of various formats, data transformation, defining custom fields, data joining), Power Pivot tool (creating a data model, inserting pivot table based on data model), Power Map tool (using geolocation to visualize data on maps, saving maps in a traditional way and in the form of 3D visualization), Power View tool (creating an interactive dashboards presenting data in tables, on maps and charts; using slicers). Thanks to this course, the student knows the recent trends in working with data, creating reports and visualizing the obtained results. She/he is able to create professional business applications in MS Excel. |
