Skrócony opis: (tylko po angielsku)

The course provides hands-on introduction to textile technology and skills. It combines short introductory lectures with hands-on learning organised as Do It Yourself tasks, such as spinning in drop-spindle technique and weaving. The course also provides a basic introduction to macro- and microscopic analysis of excavated textiles and their imprints on clay. Students taking part in the course virtually will use the mobile tool-kit with samples of fibres, yarns and textile tools such as spindles and band looms. Techniques practiced in the course will be recorded and published on YouTube channel of the Faculty of Archaeology UW. By gaining basic hands-on experience, participants evaluate their subjective feelings about textile tasks and the experienced comfort, difficulty, as well as satisfaction from work and intensity of workloads required by consecutive sequences of textile production. They will learn about division of labour and how it might have been gendered.
