Emerging Sustainable Development Law

During the course, the students will learn about the emergence and growth

of importance of sustainable development law, a field integrating

environmental, economic and social aspects of law. The course offers a

overview over legal framework for sustainability including recent

developments in international law.

5 ECTS x 25 h. = 125 h., including:

45 hours - hours in direct contact with the teacher

80 hours - student's own contribution: 20 hours - reading the literature, 40

hours preparation of a written assignment, 10 hours - preparation for the

class discussion, 10 hours - analysis of lecture material

After completion of the course the student:

- recognizes the basic elements of international legal concept of

sustainable development;

- analyses the challenges of sustainable development;

- describes legal principles of sustainable development law;

- recognizes recent development in sustainable development law;

- understand definition of sustainable development and sustainable

investment;

- knows how to implement the international legal concept of sustainable

development into national legal systems.
