Course in Open Economy Macroeconomics covers issues related to the macroeconomics an economy linked with the rest of the world with different kinds of economic ties. The course consists of a lecture, where the basic concepts and theories are presented with some empirical illustration. The discussion classes complement the lecture and allow the students to consolidate knowledge acquired during the lecture, to refer it to the empirical examples and to train some analytical skills related presented material. It is expected that students have adequate knowledge of macroeconomics II and basic microeconomics. The lecture ends with a written examination in the form of open questions. In order to pass the exam it is necessary to obtain 50% of points. Final evaluation of the course is given on the basis of the weighted average number of points obtained from the final exam and discussion classes with weights 70% and 30%, respectively. |

The course aims at presentation of the basic concepts, categories and simple models of modern macroeconomic analysis. Mastering the material should allow the students to understand the functioning of the economy as a whole, studying the structure of modern macroeconomic theory and give a solid basis for studying macroeconomics at the intermediate and advanced level. Hence, emphasis will be given to mastering of the basic macroeconomic independencies and on differences between short-term and long-term approach to macroeconomics. Credit for classes is based on the written final exam, consisting of computational tasks, open questions and graphical tasks. It is also necessary to get a credit for discussion classes first. Credit for the whole course will be given to students that will gather min. 60% of the weighted average number of pints from tutorial (weight 30%) and final exam (70%). It is required to get at least 50% of point from the final exam. |

Celem zajęć jest zapoznanie uczestników kursu z podstawowymi technikami informatycznymi przydatnymi w codziennej pracy ekonomisty. W trakcie zajęć organizowanych w formie laboratoriów studenci nabywają umiejętność posługiwania się wybranymi narzędziami informatycznymi (zaawansowany Excel, środowisko do analiz statystycznych R) oraz umiejętności dobierania odpowiedniego narzędzia analitycznego do rozwiązania typowego problemu z zakresu analizy ekonomicznej. Przed przystąpieniem do kursu wymagane jest posiadanie podstawowej wiedzy z zakresu informatyki i matematyki (na poziomie pierwszego semestru pierwszego roku studiów zajęć z algebry liniowej i analizy matematycznej). |

Celem kursu jest zapoznanie studentów z praktycznymi aspektami inwestowania. Tematyka stanowi powiązanie rachunkowości, finansów, matematyki finansowej i Excela. Kurs składa się z trzech bloków: a) optymalizacja portfela metodą Markowitza, b) analiza i tworzenie części finansowej biznes planu, c) wycena firmy metodą zdyskontowanych przepływów. Zajęcia mają charakter warsztatowy – studenci w grupach przygotowują i prezentują projekty, które są podstawą zaliczenia przedmiotu. Celem zajęć jest nauka samodzielności prowadzenia analiz ekonomicznych, nauka myślenia i samodzielnego tworzenia raportów finansowych. |

Finance II to wykład przeznaczony dla wszystkich studentów i jest równoważny wykładowi Finanse II ACCA w języku polskim. W ramach wykładu omówione zostaną zagadnienia związane z zaawansowanym instrumentarium finansowym. Studenci zapoznają się z teorią portfelową, modelami rynku kapitałowego, a także instrumentami finansowymi rynku terminowego: kontraktami futures i forward, opcjami oraz swapami, które mogą być wykorzystane w strategiach ograniczania ryzyka. Wykład ma formę spotkań bezpośrednich, podczas których nacisk jest położony na aktywne uczestnictwo studentów w spotkaniach. Na podstawie zaprezentowanej teorii, studenci zapoznają się z przykładowymi problemami praktycznymi. |

We will talk on daily problems and issues that management have to deal with and the tools needed to effectively struggle with them. The course begins with the illustration how critical commercial banking are to the functioning of the economy and how those it reflects our standard of living with special attention on specificity of banking industry. Next, the services banks offer, how banks are organized and structured will be presented with special attention to the principal laws and regulations governing the industry. Also, how to analyze banks’ financial statements and evaluate bank performance. Students will be introduced to the topic of asset-liability management and with bank’s exposure to different risks The liquidity problems banks must deal with as they manage their cash position will be presented. |

The purpose of the course is to familiarise students with regulatory framework and accountancy rules, financial accounting system, which is a logical, complete and compact system, describing assets, sources of their financing, and result of business activities. The students will be able to prepare records of economic operations in accounting books and to prepare a preliminary balance sheet and profit and loss account. The seminar consists of the theoretical, definitional part realized in the form of lecture and team work, consisting of problem-solving in groups. Seminar is designed for students of the first year first degree studies. |
