This course is a continuation of Accounting I. The purpose of the course is threefold: (1) to practice accountancy rules learnt in Accounting I, (2) to familiarise students with financial statements and (3) to introduce students to basic financial ratios. During the course, students will record in accounting books long- and short-term ninvestments and deferrals, accruals and provisions. The students will also prepare statement of cash flows and statement of changes in shareholders' equity. The seminar consists of theoretical part realized in the form of short lectures, in-class problem-solving and group work. Seminar is designed for students of the second year first degree studies.

The course introduces students to important topics in advanced microeconomics. The course has two concurrent parts: Game Theory and General Equilibrium. The former discussess game theory and its applications, while the latter introduces production and consumption theory concepts in order to provide a coherent picture for the general equilibrium framework.

Completing the course requires passing the mid-term and final exam, respective to both parts of the course (4 exams in total).

Celem kursu jest przekazanie wiedzy i umiejętności o technikach zaawansowanej wizualizacji danych w R dzięki której można tworzyć wykresy adekwatne do problemu w standardzie publikacyjnym. Do realizacji tego celu wykorzystany zostanie pakiet ggplot2, którego składnia zostanie omówiona szczegółowo – od podstawowych zasad i funkcji, przez przegląd różnych geometrii (np. geom_line, geom_point, geom_bar), edycje parametrów wykresu (funkcja theme i rodzina funkcji scale_). Na koniec zostanie zaprezentowany przegląd zaawansowanych wizualizacji, włączając w to tworzenie map i rozkładów dwuwymiarowych. Podczas zajęć zostaną również omówione wybrane techniki wizualizacji interaktywnej. Ważną częścią kursu będzie zaprezentowanie efektywnych sposobów wykorzystania pakietu R do wizualizacji danych.

The aim of this 45-hours lecture is to present modern macroeconomic methods and models used both by researchers and analysts to understand and predict macroeconomic phenomena. Upon completion students will be able to use acquired tools to explain and interpret the workings of the macroeconomy at an advanced level.

The course is composed of three parts. The first part is devoted to static (intersectoral) general equilibrium analysis. The second part covers core growth facts and theories. The third part is devoted to analyzing and modeling business cycles phenomena.

Kurs jest zaprojektowany jako łagodne wprowadzenie do języka C++ oraz świata programowania obiektowego dla studentów finansów ilościowych. Szczególny nacisk położono na zagadnienie wyceny instrumentów pochodnych. Wcześniejsze doświaczenie w programowaniu nie jest wymagane. Struktura kursu pozwala na naukę od samych podstaw. Omawiane są zagadnienia i elementy języka C++ istotne przed przejściem do bardziej zaawansownych aplikacji w obszarze finansów ilościowych.

The course aims to familiarize participants with the creation, modification and management of databases using SQL language, which is the standard used in databases such as Oracle, Sybase, Informix, Microsoft SQL Server, Access, etc. Students will become acquainted with the theoretical and the practical issues of database creation, maintenance and management. Special attention will be paid to the SQL queries in databases such as MS SQL Server.

CAUTION: This course is is equivalent to course: BAZY DANYCH – ZASTOSOWANIA JĘZYKA SQL.

The objective of this course is to teach students econometric methods, their theoretical properties and most important applications. Lectures will be illustrated with simple empirical examples. Course covers the estimation of parameters in Classical Linear Regression Model with Ordinary Least Squares and some extensions like Generalized Least Squares and robust estimation of variance matrix. In this context the most important element of statistical inference discussed: estimation, parameter interpretation, test the statistical hypotesis, and diagnostics of the estimated model. Upon learning the course material student should be able to make inferences about relations between variables in cross section sample. Problem sessions are to teach students how to formulate an econometric model, how to estimate it with STATA package and how to inteprete the results.

The main course objective is a presentation of backgrounds and significance of ethical and professional standards and legal regulations in the financial market. The basic expected result of instruction is getting knowledge of existing regulations and standards and ability to apply them to factual situations. The course is focused both on regulations and standards of international scope as well as those applicable in Poland. The course is conducted as a lecture in English and it is intended for a first-year students of II degree studies, major: Quantitative Finance. The final grade is based on the written exam.

The purpose of the course is acquainting students with general pinciples of the financial reporting system, undescoring the critical role of analysis of financial reports in investment decision making, including the principal financial statements (the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement and statement of changes in owners' equity) which allows a financial analyst to evaluate trends in performance of different companies over the same period. In addition, specific categories of assets and liabilities that are particularly susceptible to the impact of alternative accounting policies and estimates will be discussed.

The course is assigned to students on the first year of the second level (master studies). Assessment will be based on 30% discussions and 70% on written examination containing both test and problem sets.

Course is dedicated for everyone who wants to learn how to write SQL queries in practice – students, data analysts future data engineers and everyone who uses SQL in daily work. Course covers both simple topics like SQL query syntax and advanced elements like correlated subqueries or recursive queries.

Course is based on free, relational database - SQLite, for management database program served DBeaver.

Course is prepared in a tutorial manner. After part of material there are tasks to be done by participant, divided into 4 groups:

- Basic * (19 tasks)

- Mid – advanced ** (28 tasks)

- Advanced *** (11 tasks)

- Expert **** (7 tasks)

This course is designed for students interested in the impact of institutions (both formal and informal) on economic processes and outcomes, and the reciprocal influence of economic conditions on the existing rules, social norms, and values. It aimes at providing students with interdisciplinary approach to analysis of various constraints (both humanly devised and spontaneously created) which shape human behaviour and human beliefs. The course is tought in lecture. Assesment will be based on written examination. Students need to receive positive mark for tutorials in order to be allowed to write final exam
