The main goal of the course is preparation of the B.A. thesis. The subject of the thesis will be related to the issues concerning regional development, regional policy and spatial econometric analysis. The assessment will be based on class presentations |

The first part of the course will be devoted to the review of existing studies concerning regional development, regional policy and spatial econometric analysis. The importance of the above issues is systematically increasing which is particularly visible at the time of analyzing new econometric tools. During the course we will discuss the possibility of formal economic analysis of issues that up to now were not necessarily covered by the mainstream economy. The second part of the course will be dedicated to preparation of the B.A. thesis. Students will have to choose the subject of interest and then systematically present their advances to other participants of the course. |

A) Knowledge Student has a knowledge concerning the subject of its thesis; he also has a knowledge related to the impact of geography on economic development. Moreover, he has a knowledge concerning the most important macroeconomic models. Student is able to prepare a multimedia presentation concerning its M.A. thesis. Student is able to choose the subject of its M.A. thesis, based on criteria provided by the lecturer, and prepare a high quality thesis. S2A_U01, S2A_U02, S2A_U03, S2A_U04, S2A_U08, S2A_U09, S2A_U10 C) Social competencies Student knows about the necessity of verifying the economic theory through empirical analysis. Furthermore, he knows about the limitations of models used in empirical analysis. Student understands the importance of particular sectors on global economy.
